Microsoft Remote Desktop Mac Download Old Version

Your best shot is to use your favourite search engine and look for someone that may have a download link (unofficial) or then you could consider contacting Microsoft support and check if they may be able to provide you the version you're looking for.

Installing Remote Desktop 8 is a good workaround, as it can run on older versions of macOS. However unfortunately it is no longer available on the Mac App Store or from Microsoft. There are some software download sites that offer Remote Desktop 8, however they are likely to contain malware.

I too, am wondering about this as my mid-2009 MacBook Pro is capped at os 10.11.6 and cannot download the current version of remote desktop. I need to be able to connect to my work computer from home during this time.

If you are running SPM or PHM on the Incisive inCLOUD servers, the latest download of Remote Desktop for Mac (10.4) won't install on older versions of the MacOS (10.12 or older). To find the version of your MacOS click on the Apple icon in the top left corner and choose 'About this Mac'

First published on CloudBlogs on Jul 13, 2018 by Enterprise Mobility + Security team The Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 client for macOS with its redesigned user experience and new code base has been available in the App Store since last November and the feedback has been incredible, helping us continuously improve the client. As more and more customers have switched to the new client for their daily usage, we are now preparing to retire the older Microsoft Remote Desktop 8.0 version from the App Store. To that end, on September 1, 2018, version 8.0 will be retired and only version 10 will remain available for download. If you are one of our macOS customers, now is the time to download the new version, test all familiar scenarios, and give us feedback for any issues or concerns you might have before September. Submit your feedback through Help > Report an issue in the client or request additional functionality via our UserVoice Suggestion box . We look forward to your feedback, comments, and help in ensuring the new client meets all your needs.

The option "Use all monitors" has been working flawlesslly for me for several years (all through COVID). A few days ago, it stopped working. I believe it is a bug introduced in the update 10.7.7, on the MacOS version of Remote Desktop, downloaded around 29-Jun-2022.

When you are finished configuring your remote desktop, click the red close button at the top left of the dialog box and your new remote desktop will be added. To start a session with that desktop, simply double-click it to begin.

Microsoft Remote Desktop is a free-of-charge utility and tool developed by one of the biggest multinational technology companies in the world, Microsoft Corporation. It is a dedicated remote control application that allows you to remotely access computers that run Windows Professional or Enterprise, as well as Windows Server in your Mac device. You can also connect to remote PCs, virtual apps, or desktops in order to access managed resources published by your admin.

So I tried this older version (called "RDC") but it doesn't support multi-monitors and even if it did, it doesn't support RD Gateway, so I wouldn't be able to remote in to my work network. I'm going to give CoRD a try...

I haven't used 2x RDP, but Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac does allow you to store multiple destinations and unique configurations for each. If you haven't used it since the old "RDC" days (which was a different program altogether...the one with the satellite icon), I'd highly recommend checking it out: -remote-desktop/id715768417?mt=12 Opens a new window

John, for my particular case I needed "displays have separate spaces" UNchecked. This is because I have a MacPro with two monitors, but I want RDP sessions to work exactly as they did in older versions of Mac OS X (and also the same way they work from a PC to a PC with "Use all my monitors for the remote session" box checked). I also want the ability to swipe between multiple desktops on my MacPro via the magic mouse, but have the 2 screens "linked." Displays having separate spaces UN-links them, to my knowledge. Not sure if the old app (I'm still on Mavericks) will work with Yosemite, but I can send it to you if you'd like.

I also have this issue with Microsoft Remote Desktop version 8.0.26. When i set remote desktop to "use all monitors" it will appear to remote into the box and utilize all my monitors. The screens are black, and the mouse cursor shows on all three, but when I drag windows to them they don't show up at all. Does anyone have a fix that will work with any version of Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac? Or even suggestions to try? 2ff7e9595c
